Piano instruction

  • 1994 to the present: Private Piano teacher here in my home including teaching an Autistic student to read music as well as using his perfect pitch gift to learn repertoire.
  • 1980 to 1992: Piano teacher at the Maris Stella Private School for girls in Durban, South Africa.
  • 1976 to 1979: Piano and Singing teacher at the Collegiate Primary School in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
  • 1974 to 1975: Piano, Recorder and Singing teacher at the Plumstead Elementary School in Cape Town, South Africa.
  • Private teaching since 1971

Student accomplishments

  • Prepared students for participation in the Practical and Theoretical Examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music where numerous students have received the DISTINCTION rating.
  • 1997 to 2008: Students who received DISTINCTION and HIGH MERIT ratings were invited to the Annual "HIGH SCORERS CONCERT". This is hosted by the Royal Schools Association in Atlanta in January.
  • In 2005 and 2006, one of my students received the HIGHEST AWARD for having passed his Associated Board Grade 2 ,3 and 4 practical Examinations with the highest marks achieved out of all students who entered in Atlanta.
  • Prepared numerous students for follow-on studies in music at Universities in England, and the U.S.A.
  • Mentor students toward competitions and festivals resulting in 80% of students attaining ‘Outstanding Performer’ rating.
  • Mentor students for the Georgia State Spring Auditions.
  • Numerous students have been chosen for Master Class Participation both in the Cherokee and Fulton Counties Music Teachers’ Association.
